About
Art invites us to know beauty and to solicit it, summon it,
from even the most tragic of circumstances.

Mission
Wetsi Art Gallery is a project of the association Nouveau Système Artistique. It is a space for artistic encounters around post-colonial projects.
Faced with the need to deconstruct the racist myths distilled in society over several centuries through the arts and sciences, it is about using what Maura Reilly calls curatorial activism to deconstruct these false myths and have a positive impact.
By valuing the culture and arts of Africans and its diasporas, our aim is to build bridges between worlds that are still compartmentalised, between artists from diverse minorities and institutions that are willing to meet them.
History
Wetsi Art Gallery is a space dedicated to the valorization of artistic productions of Afrodescendant people and that encourages encounters, making better known realities and invisibilized discourses.
Created in October 2019 and located in Brussels, Wetsi Art Gallery (WAG) is a space for exhibitions, artistic encounters and sales of art and design.
WAG is a project of the non-profit organization Nouveau Système Artistique active in Brussels since 2009.

In order to reach its objectives of promotion and valorization of the African or Afrodescendant culture and to create bridges between institutions and artists but also to support the emergence of a network of professional artists, Wetsi Art Gallery sets up various partnerships and projects.
