Reclaiming the art space
From 11h
The event will introduce the new gallery space through a discussion between Véronique Clette-Gakuba and Norman Ajari around the notion of a Black (art) space. Véronique Clette recently obtained her doctorate in political and social sciences on the theme Epreuves de la colonialité dans l'art et la culture, faire exister un monde noir à Bruxelles. Norman Ajari, author of the eponymous La dignité ou la mort, will be delighted to share a few words about his latest book, co-written on the theme of racism. The question of space and territory is a crucial one for people categorised as racialised. Both from here and elsewhere, but at the same time a stranger at home, assigned to difference and exoticism, it is crucial that we find a space in which to think, define and realise ourselves.
